Clinic365 offers cervical screening at our East Melbourne clinic with the option of self-collection or traditional clinician-collected sampling. Since July 2022, all eligible Australians aged 25 to 74 can choose to self-collect their cervical screening test using a simple vaginal swab — no speculum required. For those who prefer or require a clinician-collected sample, this is also available during your in-person consultation. Cervical Screening Melbourne is available by telehealth from our Specialist GP.
The cervical screening test detects human papillomavirus DNA, which is responsible for almost all cervical cancers. This is a more accurate test than the old Pap smear and only needs to be done every five years. Self-collected samples have been shown to be equally accurate as clinician-collected specimens for HPV detection, making self-collection a valid and comfortable option for most people.
During your in-person consultation, your Specialist GP can also perform a comprehensive sexual health assessment, discuss any gynaecological concerns, and arrange additional testing if needed. This makes the in-person visit ideal for people who want to combine cervical screening with other sexual health services such as STI testing, contraception review, or vaccination.
If you are not in Melbourne or prefer not to visit a clinic, Clinic365 also offers online cervical screening from $39 — self-collect at any pathology clinic Australia-wide with no appointment needed. An at-home cervical screening kit is also available for $79, posted to your door with free express postage. All three options use the same HPV PCR test and are equally valid for cervical cancer prevention.
Cervical screening is recommended for everyone with a cervix aged 25 to 74 who has ever been sexually active, regardless of HPV vaccination status. If you are overdue for screening, any of our three options — in-person, online, or at-home — makes it easy to catch up. Early detection of HPV through regular screening is the most effective way to prevent cervical cancer.
Our East Melbourne clinic is located at Suite 6c, Level 5, 182–184 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne VIC 3002. The clinic is easily accessible by public transport — tram routes 48 and 75 stop nearby, and Parliament Station is a short walk. Street parking and nearby parking stations are available for those driving. The clinic environment is designed to be comfortable, private, and non-judgemental. All consultations are conducted in private rooms by experienced Specialist GPs.
In-person consultations allow for a comprehensive assessment that may include physical examination, on-the-spot testing, same-day treatment, and procedures such as cryotherapy, vaccination, or device insertion depending on the service. Many patients choose to combine multiple services in a single visit — for example, an STI screen combined with contraception review, or a cervical screening test alongside an HPV vaccination. Your GP will discuss all available options during your consultation and tailor the appointment to your specific needs and concerns.
Clinic365 is committed to providing inclusive, non-judgemental care. Our clinic welcomes patients of all genders, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds. We understand that sexual health can be a sensitive topic, and our team is trained to create a safe and supportive environment for every patient. All consultations are completely confidential — we do not share information with your regular GP, employer, or insurer without your explicit consent.
