A simple blood draw measures beta-hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), the hormone produced during pregnancy. Results are sent by SMS, most within 24 hours.

Why a blood test? Blood pregnancy tests detect pregnancy earlier than home urine tests and measure exact hCG levels. This is useful for confirming very early pregnancy, monitoring hCG levels over time, or when a home test gives an unclear result.

When to test. A blood pregnancy test can detect pregnancy as early as 6–8 days after ovulation — before a missed period. For the most reliable result, test from the first day of your missed period.
